Jose & Aydee founded La Michoacana Mil Amores as an extension of their love story and their deep love for ice cream & paletas. Their main goal is to share that same love with all of their customers and to take them on a loving and nostalgic experience.
La Michoacana Mil Amores focuses on bringing together the ever so loved flavors of Mexico & flavors of our many generations of Mexican-Americans, like Zapote Negro, Membrillo, Tamarindo, Rockie Road, Cookie Dough, Strawberry Shortcake and among so many others.
Aydee, as a Mexican Immigrant wants their customers to experience the same nostalgia she does through these flavors. Whenever she sits down and has an Eskimal (Chocolate Covered Paleta) it reminds her of when she used to go to her pueblo's plaza to enjoy one with her mom. But her taste quickly extended once she immigrated to LA. They swapped their Eskimales, as they hard to come by back then, for a Strawberry Shortcake Pop from their local Rite-Aid.
Jose joined the craftsmanship of Helados, Nieves & Paletas as a way of survival & following the footsteps of many of his uncles at a young age. But he never imagined he would madly fall in love with the craft. Throughout the years, Jose traveled all over Mexico working in many Paleterias. That's what make his talent and love for the craft so unique. He has a repertoire of flavors & techniques that match no other thanks to our very diverse and loved Mexico. Though most of his influence comes from Southern-Caribbean Mexico, Mexico City and of course Michoacan (his birthplace).
Jose has cracked the code for the most creamy and flavor forward Paletas & Helados. Whenever you bite or lick into one of his Paletas it is like having a Gelato, a Mexican Gelato.
